FAQ

We’ve got you covered both by car and by public transport, so there’s no excuse not to train.

Free & easy parking

We offer free off-street parking with plenty of space for cars, vans, motorbikes, scooters, and push bikes, whatever you roll up in. Whether you’re popping in before work, after work, or on your way through town, you’ll always find a spot and walk in stress free.

Public transport options

If you’re travelling via public transport, you’re in luck. There are regular services on routes 860 and 861 operated by Whitsunday Transit. Route 860 runs between Proserpine and Shute Harbour via Airlie Beach, while route 861 connects Whitsunday Plaza to Jubilee Pocket. The closest bus stops to us are on Shute Harbour Road, Shute Harbour Road at MacArthur Drive and Shute Harbour Road at Willis Court, both just a short 4 minute walk from the gym.

Our location is super convenient whether you’re heading into town or leaving after work, perfect to fit in a quick session on your commute.

Tip: Check live bus times directly on Google Maps before you head out.

Yes, absolutely. We offer tours during staffed hours, so feel free to stop by, have a look at the facilities, meet the team, and learn more about what we offer.

It’s a great way to get a feel for the space and ask any questions before joining. We’re confident you’ll find something that suits your needs and training style.

Staffed hours are Monday to Thursday from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm, Friday from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm, and Saturday from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm.

Yes, we welcome casual visitors during our staffed hours. You can drop in Monday to Thursday from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm, Friday from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm, and Saturday from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm.

Casual visits are limited to these times to ensure everyone’s safety and comfort. Outside staffed hours, the gym is reserved for members only. We monitor the gym daily through our camera system to keep the space safe and secure at all times, so members can feel confident training whenever it suits their schedule.

We don’t offer free trials or complimentary sessions. However, our casual visits give you full access to the gym and facilities, including the sauna, so you can experience what training here is really like before committing to a membership.

Your casual visit also includes access to our sauna. The sauna takes about 30 minutes to heat up and can be used for 30 minutes once it’s ready, so please plan your visit accordingly. Sauna use must be booked in advance.

Before starting your workout, all casual visitors, including those using a punch card, must check in at reception and scan the QR code. This ensures you’re covered by insurance during your training session. Members are also required to scan in each time they train as part of our safety policy.

Please remember to bring enclosed shoes and a towel for your session, as these are mandatory for all gym users. If you forget, towels are available for hire or purchase at reception.

We also offer 3 day, 5 visit, and 10 visit punch cards, perfect if you’re here on holiday or just passing through and want to keep up your training routine. All the same conditions apply, including staffed hours, sauna access, and gym etiquette. Please consult the gym etiquette section of our Frequently Asked Questions before visiting.

To help keep Gravity Fitness a safe, clean, and enjoyable space for everyone, all members and visitors are asked to follow our gym etiquette guidelines.

Enclosed shoes are required when entering and moving through the gym. Barefoot training is permitted in designated areas only, however enclosed shoes must be worn to access the facility and move between training zones. Open footwear such as thongs, slides, or sandals is not permitted.

Appropriate gym attire is required at all times. Training shirtless is not permitted on the gym floor, and members and visitors must wear a shirt throughout their workout. For progress photos or posing, a dedicated posing room is available, and we ask that these activities are kept out of shared training areas.

A towel is required for all training sessions and must be used on all equipment. Each person must bring their own towel, and towels cannot be shared. This helps us maintain hygiene across all training areas.

Please store all bags and personal belongings in the designated locker areas. Bags are not permitted on the gym floor or in walkways.

After use, please return all equipment to its designated place. This includes re-racking weights, removing plates from machines, and returning any accessories. If equipment is moved for supersets or circuits, please return it once you’re finished.

Our bathroom facilities are located just outside the gym, around the corner to the left. They’re spacious, clean, and perfect to use as changing rooms before or after your workout.

We don’t currently have showers on site, but since Gravity Fitness is open 24/7 for members, you’ve got all the time you need to plan your sessions around your schedule. Whether you prefer to train early and head home to get ready for work, or fit in a session later in the day before relaxing at home, the flexibility is all yours.

Keeping our setup simple allows us to focus on what really matters: great equipment, a friendly community, and a training environment that’s always ready for you.

We don’t have a permanent ice bath on site. However, we occasionally bring one in for special events such as in-house competitions, expert-led recovery sessions, or celebrations like the gym’s birthday.

Whenever an ice bath is available, we’ll make sure to announce it through our regular communication channels, including social media and email, and always communicate in advance to give everyone time to plan and join in.

Yes, absolutely. The sauna is included in all memberships as well as casual visits, so everyone can enjoy it as part of their experience at Gravity Fitness. If you’re not a member, you can still use the sauna by coming in for a casual visit during staffed hours. And if you’re joining a friend who’s already a member, you’ll even receive a discounted casual rate, the perfect excuse to make it a sauna and gym day together.

Sauna use is available during staffed hours, with bookings starting 30 minutes after opening and the last session beginning 45 minutes before closing time.

To book, just let us know in advance. You can do this by email, phone, Instagram DM, or simply in person when you arrive. If there are no other bookings at your preferred time, we’re happy to accommodate same-day requests, like having it ready for you 30 minutes after you start your workout.

We recommend booking ahead to make sure the sauna is ready when you are. It’s the perfect way to unwind after a great training session.

Yes, absolutely. Our Evolt 360 Body Composition Scanner is available to both members and non-members who want to gain a deeper understanding of their progress and overall health.

Body Scan sessions are available during staffed hours and require booking in advance. Each session takes about 30 minutes, including setup, the scan itself, and a short explanation of your results. Our team will walk you through your report, helping you interpret what each value means and how your results compare to recommended health standards.

For the most accurate results, we recommend doing your scan in the morning while fasted, after drinking two glasses of water. For the general population, men are encouraged to repeat the scan every six weeks, while women should ideally scan every four weeks, preferably one week after their menstrual cycle, when hormonal levels are most stable.

You can book your Body Scan over the phone, by email, or via Instagram DM. Whether you’re tracking your training progress or simply curious to learn more about your body composition, it’s an excellent way to get precise, professional insights into your health and fitness.

All equipment belonging to the back room should stay in the back room, and all equipment from the main gym floor should stay on the gym floor. If you use or move anything, please make sure to return it to its proper place once you’re done. This helps keep the gym organised and safe for everyone.

If there’s any accessory we don’t provide, like large resistance bands or boxing gloves, you’re welcome to bring your own. Just remember to take your personal items with you after your session and not leave them behind for next time.

Our team checks the gym floor daily. If you forget something and it’s found by staff or handed in at reception, we’ll place it in our lost and found room. Items are kept for 30 days. After that, unclaimed items will either be donated to the op shop, disposed of, or placed on the gym floor for shared use (for example, a resistance band).

On our membership page, you’ll be able to explore the different memberships we offer and find the one that best suits your needs. You’ll also find a link to sign up for direct debit memberships. Before proceeding, please make sure to check eligibility for specific options, such as student or miner memberships, as proof will need to be shown in person at the gym.

Once you’ve completed the online form, you’ll need to come in during staffed hours to finalise your signup. During your visit, you’ll receive your access tag, a quick security briefing, and a walkthrough of our gym etiquette and safety rules.

If you prefer not to set up a direct debit, we also offer upfront memberships. These can be purchased in person at the gym during staffed hours only.

Staffed hours are Monday to Thursday from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm, Friday from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm, and Saturday from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm.

Yes, direct debit memberships are a contract for a set number of weeks. If you choose to cancel before the end of your agreement, the remaining balance will need to be paid in full.

Direct debit memberships have a $29 setup fee at the time of joining. All memberships, whether direct debit or upfront, require a $25 access tag fee at signup.

Staffed hours are Monday to Thursday from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm, Friday from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm, and Saturday from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm.

Yes, you can suspend your membership for up to 6 weeks per year, and you can split that time however you like. There’s a small $5 weekly maintenance fee while your membership is on hold to keep your account active.

To request a suspension, the account holder must contact us directly via email or come to the gym during staffed hours. We’ll confirm your dates and make sure your membership is paused correctly.

We have a 2-week cancellation policy. This means that from the date you submit your cancellation request, two more payments will still be processed before your membership officially ends.

All cancellation requests must be made in writing by the account holder, either via email or in person at the gym during staffed hours. In the case of members under 18, a parent or guardian may also submit the request on their behalf.

Remember, access tag fees are non-refundable. Returning your tag after cancellation will not result in a refund.

Yes, absolutely. You’re welcome to bring a friend, partner, or family member to train with you during staffed hours. We offer a discounted casual visit rate for friends of members who come in together, so please do — we love meeting the people you train with.

Just make sure your guest checks in at reception before entering the gym so we can process their visit and make sure they’re covered by insurance.

Outside of staffed hours, access is strictly for active members only. Your access tag is personal and linked to your insurance, so it cannot be shared or borrowed. Allowing someone else to enter the gym using your tag is not permitted. If someone you know would like to train, simply bring them in during staffed hours and we’ll be happy to help them get set up properly.

Once a year, on the last business day of October, we charge an annual lock-in fee of $29. This applies only to members on a direct debit membership who have completed their initial contract and have been active for 12 months or more.

This annual fee helps ensure that long-term members keep the same low rate they originally signed up for, protecting them from future price increases caused by rising operating costs.

As a thank-you, all members charged this annual fee receive a free body scan to be used during November. Eligible members are notified well in advance and again closer to the date. If this applies to you, be sure to book your free body scan at reception or give us a call within the booking period.
